Travel brings plenty of adventure, but it also means coming across new germs. Anyone who travels often knows how important it is to keep your hands clean to stay healthy and enjoy your trip. That’s why we wanted to try the Spirit of Travel hand sanitiser, which claims to offer both convenience and peace of mind for travellers.

After trying many travel-sized sanitisers over the years, we know how hard it can be to find one that works well, is gentle on your skin, and is easy to pack. In this review, We’ll talk about our real experience with Spirit of Travel’s hand sanitiser, how it worked on our recent trip, and if it’s worth adding to your travel kit.

Spirit of Travel – Product Review

This time last year there probably weren’t many of us who put much thought into hand sanitiser brands. However, 2020 has been a year of change and, let’s face it, a whole lot of hand washing. We were sent a range of products by Spirit of Travel in exchange for an honest review; here’s what we thought.

The first thing that makes these products stand out is the lovely scent, which is fresh and natural, without a strong alcohol odour that other brands often have. This is particularly great if you need to apply the hand sanitiser in an enclosed area, which can often be quite overpowering. In fact, on our recent trip to Antigua British Airways provided us with ‘Personal protection packs’ which included a very strong alcohol scented hand gel. With no fresh air on the plane this caused our eyes to water and even made us cough (not ideal when surrounded by nervous strangers!). Travel Hand Sanitiser

The next thing we noticed was that the hand sanitiser didn’t have a drying effect on our skin. This is due to the inclusion of moisturising panthenol in the ingredients, which balances out the germ-killing alcohol to be kinder to your skin. When you’re using hand sanitisers consistently this can make a huge difference, and we would definitely only use products that contain panthenol in the future.

The products we were sent were all really useful in their own ways. Firstly, the large 300ml hand sanitiser is so useful to leave by the front door to use when going in or out of the house. The smaller product versions that come in the Spirit of Travel pocket collection are perfect for taking out and about, going to the shops or further afield on one of our travel adventures. All are really easy to use and absorb quickly, so there’s no sticky residue left behind and our hands felt clean and fresh.

If you’re looking for a hand sanitiser that smells and feels great to use, will kill germs, and is easy to travel with, Spirit of Travel are definitely worth a try.
