Reward Flight Finder data shows Avios Christmas getaways open on eleven London routes,with British Airways and Iberia across December 2026 and January 2027. Available in every cabin from Economy to Club World.
If you have been sitting on a balance waiting for something worth spending it on, a Berlin Christmas market weekend is currently 20,000 Avios return plus just £2. That is the cheapest festive trip in the list, and it is far from the only one. We ran the same exercise on winter Avios reward seats earlier in the year.
The festive fortnight is normally the hardest window of the year to book with points, so finding this much open inventory five months out is a gift in itself. Plus you can still find business class seats to far off destinations to treat yourself this Christmas!

What is open right now
The short-haul list runs Berlin, Larnaca, Madrid, Paris, Tirana and Vienna, departing from London City, Gatwick and Heathrow. Reward Flight Finder reports up to six Economy and six Club Europe seats across plenty of Paris dates, and up to six in each cabin on Berlin and Tirana.
Long-haul is more selective but the pickings are good. New York and Singapore hold the strongest Premium Economy spread, Kuala Lumpur and Chennai are Club World stories, and Tobago has a handful of December dates left in both premium cabins.
Berlin, Vienna and Paris: the classic market run
Berlin is the bargain of the whole list. London to Berlin prices at 10,000 Avios each way off-peak and 10,750 at peak, with a flat £1 each way in taxes, and Club Europe runs 16,500 to 18,000 with £15. Paris matches it exactly and shows the deepest availability of the three.
Berlin also runs its festivities latest. WeihnachtsZauber at Gendarmenmarkt runs 23 November to 31 December 2026 behind a €2 gate fee, the Kurfürstendamm market stays open until 4 January 2027, and Gendarmenmarkt sits in Mitte within walking distance of the Alexanderplatz and Rotes Rathaus markets.
Vienna is the grander version and prices at 13,000 or 14,000 Avios each way in Economy. The Wiener Christkindlmarkt fills Rathausplatz from 13 November to 26 December 2026, and the Vienna Ice Dream rink beside it skates on until 6 January 2027, so a New Year trip still has plenty to work with.
Madrid runs the longest festive season of the lot
Madrid keeps going when the northern markets have packed away. The Spanish season runs right through to 6 January, with the twelve grapes under the clock at Puerta del Sol at midnight on 31 December, a full dress rehearsal at midnight the night before, and the Three Kings parade on the evening of 5 January.
That matters because January dates are usually the easiest to get. British Airways prices London to Madrid at 13,000 Avios off-peak and 14,000 at peak in Economy, and Reward Flight Finder is seeing four Economy and four Business seats across plenty of December and January departures.

An Iberia flight therefore prices on the Iberia calendar even when it is booked through ba.com, and the two calendars do not line up. Iberia runs its own European chart, which starts lower, and charges lower fees. Avios move freely between the two programmes through Avios.com.
Larnaca and Tirana, for sun instead of Glühwein
Larnaca looks like a recent reward-seat release and it is the pick for anyone who would rather spend Christmas in a jumper than a parka. Most December and January dates carry strong availability, with up to six Economy and four Business seats on many days, at 15,000 or 16,750 Avios each way.
Cyprus over the festive period is mild rather than hot, so the Finikoudes seafront in January is a long lunch and a coffee rather than a beach day. Tirana prices identically, shows some of the strongest patches in the whole dataset with six seats in each cabin on some dates, and is still one of the cheapest capitals in Europe once you land.
New York, Singapore and Tobago for the big trip
New York is the one everybody wants and the data supports going for it, with Premium Economy availability across December and January reaching four seats on some dates and a strong Club World spread behind it. The Rockefeller Center tree stays lit daily into mid-January and costs nothing to see, so a January date loses none of the atmosphere.
Singapore is a Premium Economy story at the start of December and again from mid-January, at 60,500 Avios each way off-peak. Tobago is the outlier and nearly gone, down to a few December dates carrying three Premium Economy seats and two in Club World, which is exactly the kind of thing an alert catches and a manual search does not.
Chennai during Margazhi is the one most people miss
December and January in Chennai are Margazhi, the Madras Music Season, when hundreds of sabhas across the city stage well over a thousand Carnatic music and Bharatanatyam performances between mid-December and mid-January. A great many of them are free to walk into, and UNESCO added Chennai to its Creative Cities Network for music in 2017.
Reward Flight Finder shows December and January outbound dates carrying two Club World seats, with a noticeably better spread on the return leg. At 99,000 Avios each way off-peak in Club World, it is one of the more rewarding ways to spend a big balance on something you cannot easily buy.
Christmas is the cheapest time of year to step up to Club World
The Avios chart does charge more on festive dates, but it does not charge more evenly, and the unevenness works in your favour at the front of the plane. Club World to New York costs 88,000 Avios one way off-peak and 99,000 at peak, a rise of 11,000 points or 12.5%. Premium Economy rises 41% over the same dates, as the full route-by-route Avios chart shows.
The upshot is that the step from Premium Economy into Club World is at its narrowest over Christmas. Off-peak it costs an extra 41,250 Avios each way. On a festive date it costs 33,000, so the upgrade is 8,250 points cheaper per leg and 16,500 cheaper on a return.

Singapore is better still. The gap between the two cabins closes from 60,500 Avios each way to 44,000, which is 33,000 Avios saved across a return trip. The cash element does not move at all, holding at £335 each way in Club World and £250 in Premium Economy, even after the increase in Avios reward flight fees.
How to actually grab them
Know what you are looking at. British Airways sells 355 days ahead and guarantees a minimum release at that moment of eight Economy, two Premium Economy and four Club World seats per flight. Christmas Day 2026 flights went on sale on 4 January 2026, and New Year’s Day 2027 flights on 11 January 2026.
Everything visible now is a second wave rather than the first one, handed back by cancellations or pushed out later by the airline. That is good news, because second waves land without warning and reward whoever is watching rather than whoever stayed up at midnight.
