What is the BA Galleries Club T5B?
The BA Galleries Club T5B is British Airways’ lounge in the T5B satellite terminal at Heathrow, separate from the Galleries Club North and South in the main T5A building. It is open daily from 5am to 10pm. We visited in May 2026 before a Club World flight to Dubrovnik, having been redirected here by a member of BA staff at T5A who suggested the satellite lounge would be quieter. It was a very good call.
The lounge was refurbished a few years ago, gaining new furniture, a Whispering Angel Provence rosé bar and, from 2026, a Grind coffee station. The food and drink offer broadly matches Galleries North and South, but with noticeably fewer passengers passing through.
Who can use the BA Galleries Club at Heathrow T5B?
Access is open to passengers flying Club World (long-haul business class) or Club Europe (short-haul business class) on British Airways. British Airways Club Gold cardholders can use it in any cabin, and oneworld Sapphire and Emerald frequent flyers travelling with any oneworld partner are also eligible. Opening hours are 5am to 10pm daily, confirmed by Google Maps and by our arrival shortly after 6am when the lounge was already in full operation. No advance booking is needed; your boarding pass serves as the entry credential.
How do you get to the T5B lounge?
If your flight departs from a B or C gate, the lounge is directly in the satellite terminal. After the airside transit train from T5A, take the escalator upwards from the lower level and follow the lounge signs. From the train doors to the lounge entrance is about two minutes on foot.
If you are flying from an A gate, the lounge is still accessible. Take the airside transit train to T5B, use the lounge, then return on the same service to reach your A gate. The transit train runs every two to three minutes and the journey itself takes about two minutes; allow seven to ten minutes total each way. BA staff at the T5A lounge desks will sometimes recommend the move proactively if the main lounges are busy, as they did on our visit.
Food: the buffet and the made-to-order hot counter
The self-serve buffet runs along a yellow-cabinet counter and covers fresh pastries, croissants, fruit bowls, cereal, granola and yogurt. On our visit at around 6am the fruit selection included watermelon, cantaloupe and apricot, served in ceramic bowls alongside silver jugs of milk. Everything was fresh and well-stocked at that hour.
The hot food counter is where T5B earns its breakfast credentials. A member of staff at the pass made us a breakfast bap to order, with fresh-cooked ingredients. It was one of the better hot options we have had in an airport lounge. There is also a hydration station in the lounge with vitamin-enriched fruit juices, infused waters and a daily smoothie.
The honest downside: the food range is narrower than at Galleries North or South. If a full hot buffet with multiple choices matters, the North lounge in T5A will offer more. For a well-executed continental spread and a made-to-order bap at 6am, T5B is hard to fault.
The self-serve bar and Whispering Angel rosé
The self-serve spirits bar carries Gordon’s gin, Tanqueray No. Ten, Bacardi, Ciroc vodka and Johnnie Walker Scotch, alongside a selection of wines chilled in an ice bucket. A cocktail card on the counter offers three self-serve recipes: a gin and tonic, a Tom Collins and an old fashioned, with the ingredients set out at the bar. A BA “Kindness Travels” sign reminds guests to drink responsibly. We visited too early in the morning to sample the spirits, but the selection is solid.
The Whispering Angel Provence rosé bar is the standout feature unique to T5B and the main draw for passengers who make the trip across from A gates. It takes the form of a curved pink-and-white counter with a tower of bottles on display and free-flowing Whispering Angel Provence available to pour from 5am. The navy arch-framed booths alongside it make a comfortable spot to sit, and the overall setting is markedly different from the standard lounge bar format. Coffee, tea and the Grind station
British Airways moved to Grind coffee across all its Heathrow lounges in 2026, replacing the previous Union Coffee partnership. The T5B lounge has two Grind stations: one in the main area near the island bar and one further along near the quieter seating zone. Both are self-serve espresso machines, and oat milk, semi-skimmed and whole milk are available alongside them. Birchall teas are stocked at the same counter.
On our visit the coffee was decent without being exceptional. It is a step up from a standard airport machine and will suit most travellers, but it is not a revelation. The Grind upgrade matters more on flights than in the lounge itself, where the spirits and rosé bars are the real draws for most passengers.
Seating zones, Kids Zone and facilities
The lounge is divided across several zones rather than one open room, which helps keep noise contained. The main area has a central oval island bar with high stools on a tiled floor. A carpeted section with frosted glass partitions and individually styled armchairs offers a quieter place to work or rest. The navy arch-framed booth seats with iridescent glass dividers sit adjacent to the Whispering Angel bar. On our visit in May 2026 we found a seat immediately in every zone, with large sections of the lounge almost empty at 6am.
The Kids Zone is a glass-walled play room with its own entrance. It contains a PS5, a foosball table, a BA-branded bear mascot figure and an aviation-themed mural. It is well separated from the adult seating areas, so neither group disturbs the other. Families travelling in an eligible cabin will find it a useful feature for early morning departures.
The bathrooms are clean and compact, with wall-mounted Elemis hand wash and lotion dispensers. Shower rooms are also available in the lounge. On a quiet early morning, there was no wait for either. Is the BA Galleries Club T5B worth it?
Yes. If you have access, T5B is the best of the three Club lounges at Heathrow in terms of atmosphere. It is rated 4.1 from 1,189 Google reviews, with the quiet atmosphere the most cited positive. On our May 2026 visit we could sit anywhere we liked, the breakfast bap was one of the better hot options we have had airside, and the Whispering Angel bar made the morning genuinely enjoyable. We would actively seek out a B-gate departure in future to use this lounge.
