The latest Avios reward seat availability data from Reward Flight Finder names eleven British Airways and Iberia routes carrying genuine space to book. Six of them are short-haul, five are long-haul, and the dates run from September 2026 through to July 2027.
If you are sitting on a balance and waiting for the right redemption, this is the most useful shortlist of the summer. Basel, Madrid and San Francisco each show up to six reward seats on selected dates, which is enough for a family of four or two couples travelling together.
The catch is the cash. British Airways raised the cash element on Reward Flights on 27 May, so the Avios price of a seat and the actual value of that seat are no longer the same question.

What the Availability Data Actually Shows
Reward Flight Finder tracks live reward seat availability across British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus, and it publishes a periodic snapshot of the routes carrying the most space. It is an overview rather than a live feed, so treat it as a shortlist worth checking rather than a guarantee of what is loaded today.
The short-haul six are Basel, Chania, Corfu, Ibiza, Madrid and Santorini. The long-haul five are Antigua, Buenos Aires, Cape Town, Orlando and San Francisco. Ten of the eleven are British Airways routes, and Madrid is the single Iberia entry, a distinction that matters more than it first looks.

The Short-Haul Routes With Real Space
Basel is the strongest short-haul entry, with reward seats in both Economy and Club Europe from September 2026 through to July 2027 and many dates showing up to six seats in each cabin. Madrid runs it close on Iberia metal, with six seats in both cabins across the same span and the option of connecting onto the Iberia long-haul network.
The Greek islands are the surprise. Corfu shows up to six Economy and two Club Europe seats between April and July 2027, Santorini offers five Economy and four Club Europe on selected dates in the same window, and Chania carries four Economy and two Club Europe across May, June and July 2027.
Ibiza is the one to look at for a short break rather than a summer holiday. October 2026 shows five Economy and two Club Europe seats on selected dates, and from March to July 2027 there are departures with four seats in both cabins out of City, Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted.
Why Summer 2027 Looks This Open
British Airways sells 355 days ahead on a rolling daily basis, so the booking horizon moves forward by one day every midnight. From today, 3 August 2026, that horizon reaches 24 July 2027. Almost every date in this list sits inside a window that opened within the last few months.
That explains the part of the data that looks too good to be true. Peak summer 2027 seats to Corfu and Santorini are not leftovers that nobody wanted. They are seats that only entered the booking system recently, which is why nothing has been taken from them yet.
The practical consequence runs the other way too. Availability that far out erodes fastest, while the 2026 dates in this list have already survived close to a year of competition. October in Ibiza and September in Antigua are the more meaningful finds, even though the seat counts look smaller.
Where the Long-Haul Space Actually Is
On long-haul the cabin with the space is Premium Economy, not Club World. Antigua shows four reward seats in Premium Economy during September 2026 and again in June and July 2027. Cape Town offers up to four across August 2026, December 2026 inbound, May 2027 outbound and through June and July 2027.
Orlando follows the same pattern, with up to four Premium Economy seats running from September 2026 to July 2027, though school holiday dates are already thinning out. Buenos Aires is the narrowest of the group: Premium Economy is concentrated in August 2026, and Club World comes down to two seats on selected dates.
Club World availability is limited on four of the five long-haul routes, which is the normal picture and the reason our winter round-up of BA and Iberia reward seats pointed readers at the same cabin. Premium Economy is where the reward space usually lives.
San Francisco Is the Outlier
One route breaks the pattern completely. San Francisco shows up to six Premium Economy reward seats from November 2026 through to July 2027, and plenty of dates carrying six seats in Club World as well. Nothing else on the list comes close in a premium cabin.
For a redemption that normally takes months of alert-chasing, six Club World seats on a flagship transatlantic route is unusual enough to be the headline of the whole dataset. If a premium cabin trip to the west coast is on your list, this is the route to price up first.
What Six Seats Actually Tells You
Seat counts only mean something against what British Airways guarantees at release. On long-haul the airline commits to eight World Traveller, two World Traveller Plus and four Club World reward seats when a flight first enters the booking system. Short-haul is eight in Euro Traveller and four in Club Europe.

Run this list against those numbers and it reads differently. Six Premium Economy seats to San Francisco is three times the guaranteed two, so BA has actively added space. Six Club Europe seats to Basel is above the guaranteed four. Both are signals rather than coincidences.
The same test cuts the other way. Six Economy seats to Basel is below the eight guaranteed at release, so two have already gone, and two Club World seats to Buenos Aires means half the guaranteed four are booked. Madrid is the exception, because it is Iberia metal and the BA guarantee does not apply.
What It Costs, and What to Do Now
Since 27 May the cash element is the number that decides which of these routes is worth your balance. A London to New York Club World return still costs 176,000 Avios, but the cash side is now £499 per person, so a couple pays 352,000 Avios plus £998 before anyone has booked a hotel.
Short-haul is where the arithmetic still works. Among the off-peak examples British Airways published alongside the May increase to its Reward Flight cash element, a one-way Club Europe seat to Rome came in at 22,000 Avios plus £20, and a Cape Town return in Economy at 66,000 Avios plus £190.

- Price the total, not the Avios. Add the cash element to the Avios cost at roughly a penny each before comparing with the cash fare.
- Take the short-haul seats first. Basel, Madrid and Ibiza carry a fraction of the cash element that the long-haul routes do.
- Set an alert rather than refreshing. New seats appear at any hour, and the routes above are the ones already showing movement.
- Check the cabin you did not plan on. Premium Economy is where the long-haul space sits on four of these five routes.
