Revolution Race Cyclone Rescue 2.0 Jacket Review
Jenny tested out the Cyclone Rescue 2.0 jacket in burgundy. The jacket is advertised as being waterproof and windproof, which it certainly was during the storms we experienced on our hike. We were out walking for over five hours and it rained relentlessly for pretty much the entire hike, yet underneath the jacket I remained nice and dry. The taped seams and waterproof zips kept the rain out of all the usual places you might expect to find a leak, and the zipped pockets kept my phone and camera perfectly dry too.

Waterproof Jacket
Despite being super waterproof, the Cyclone 2.0 rescue jacket isn’t too heavy to wear on a long day out hiking. It’s lightweight and good for layering over a long sleeved top, with a nice airflow ensuring you won’t overheat (there are even zipped vents under the armpits if you do find yourself getting too warm!)
Probably my favourite thing about the Cyclone 2.0 jacket is the hood. Often I find hoods can be more aggravation than they’re worth on a stormy day, as you’re forever having to fight against the wind to keep the hood in place, or struggling to see past it clearly. I found that I could easily secure the hood on this jacket and it did a great job of keeping the rain away from my face, without being moved at all by the wind.

Revolution Race RVRC GP Trousers Review
To complete my hiking outfit from Revolution Race I chose the RVRC GP hiking trousers in the colour mud. As someone who usually hikes in plain leggings, I really noticed the difference when wearing a proper pair of hiking trousers. As with the jacket, I was testing these on a very stormy day and they kept me much drier than my usual leggings would have done. The thick material was also very windproof and warm.
The other benefit of these trousers is in the huge number of pockets they have. There are zipped pockets, velcro pockets, and open top pockets. The way they are positioned makes it really easy to store whatever you need to during your hike.
In terms of sizing, the RVRC GP trousers seem to run small, so I’d recommend sizing up if you plan to order.
